TWENTY-ONE overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who availed themselves of the government's offer of free repatriation from war-torn Syria arrived on Monday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on board an Emirates Airways flight from Syria via Dubai. Administrator Carmelita S. Dimzon of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said that the government composite team of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and OWWA made the repatriation possible through continuous negotiations with the foreign employers to release their workers from their contracts.
Exit clearances and other documentary requirements were issued to the Filipino migrant workers after their employers agreed to allow the workers to go home. PNA
