THE organizer of the 2012 Mayor Inday Sara National Men's and Women's Invitational Tennis Championship confirmed the participation of the country's top ranking tennisters on March 15 to 18 at the Woodridge Park Tennis Club in Barangay Ma-a, Davao City. Chairman Anton Ferrazzini of the organizing group For the Love of Tennis (FLOT) said the country's No. 1 players Johnny Arcilla and Anna Clarice Patrimonio have already confirmed their participation.

Also expected from the men's division are No. 3 ranked Vicente "Onyok" Anasta, No. 4 RoLando Ruel Jr., No. 5. Patrick John Tierro, No. 6 Ronard Joven, and No. 7 Ralph Kevin Barte, a native of Davao City. Aside from the popular Patrimonio (daughter of former PBA superstar Alvin), four other rated players in the distaff side have already signified their intention to play in this biggest and most exciting tennis tournament in Mindanao. They are No. 2 Marian Jade Capadocia, No. 4. Aileen Rogan, No. 6 Noelle Nikki Camille Zoleta and No. 10. Jonicka Martina Guba. "This will be more exciting from last year's event because the top ranking lady tennis players in the country are coming to play for the first time in Davao City," Ferrazzini said.

He said that aside from the men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles and women's doubles, there will also be a mixed doubles with a total cash prize of P216,000. The event is again held in commemoration with this year's Araw ng Dabaw celebration. FLOT president Al Bucu is the tournament chairman while Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) regional director Juaninto "Titong" Cansino is the tournament director. PNA
