KANTA Pilipinas will hold its first ever on-ground auditions tomorrow at SM City Cagayan de Oro as the beginning of its series of audition tours in the entire country. TV5's newest and biggest nationwide musical reality search, Kanta Pilipinas believes in the talent of the Filipino! For a while, the news r e p o r t s t h e damages of calamity brought by floods previously hit Cagayan De Oro, the faith of the Filipino to lift spirits up should be promoted to push recovery and strength of the region. Open to all aspiring singers ages 14 to 30 years old, male and female, solo, duet or groups, TV5's Kanta Pilipinas will not be your usual singing talent search. Contestants' lives and stories will be featured to set more Filipinos appreciate the talent more than the song.
The song may just push our fellow Cagayanons to hope and recovery. Kanta Pilipinas believes in the Cagayanons and will choose to keep the faith in the Filipino. Sing with all your heart and soul and help our fellow Filipinos in Cagayan De Oro hope and succeed. Kanta Pilipinas is open to male and female singers, 14-30 years old, with Filipino or dual citizenship status. Acts can be a solo, duo, trio or group with a maximum of five members.
Auditions are open to all genres including pop, acoustic, rap/hip-hop, rock/ alternative, R&B, dance, novelty, among others. Applicants must come to the audition venue and render a two-minute acapella performance. They are required to submit a certified true copy and photocopy of their birth certificate and one close up and one full body photo. Auditionees below 18 years old must submit a signed parental consent and their parent's valid ID. Kanta Pilipinas will provide chosen contestants with mentors in singing, stage performing, personality development, style and fashion to help package them into the next singing sensations. The program includes a Cinderella-makeover segment that will further boost each contestant's appeal and that will catapult them to singing sensation status.
The show will chronicle the different stories of many Filipinos aspiring to have their talent be heard. Following their journey, their struggles and their triumphs, we will get to witness their transformation from being regular folks with raw talent to becoming a star. Filled with inspiring stories, raw reality, gripping conflicts, intense competition and uplifting music all around - Kanta Pilipinas aspires to set a new standard on entertainment TV and at the same time find new breeds of Filipino artists that will make the nation sing! Kanta Pilipinas is scheduled to premiere on July 2012. MF
