City spares electric coop for paying rental

KORONADAL City--The city government here will not charge rental fee for an electric cooperative's use of the old city hall building. Mayor Peter B. Miguel said that the Socoteco-1 has contributed millions to the city treasury compared to the few thousands of pesos that that the city government could collect the cooperative for its interim use of the LGU's facility. For this reason, the mayor asked the city council's approval to spare the power coop with the monthly rental and was responded positively last week. Socoteco General Manager Santiago Tudio thanked the members of the city council for agreeing with the proposal to spare them with the rental.

He said, the city government would not lose out of the agreement since they have made repairs and rehabilitation of the space they are occupying. It was learned that the Socoteco-1 was forced to moved out from its office inside Fitmart Mall when the building was bought and occupied by Gaisano Grand Mall. GM Tudio said that by March, they may vacate the old city hall and go back to its office inside Gaisano Grand Mall. PIA
